Should I use my regular USD credit card when I travel? How much will it cost? Will I get a bad exchange rate? Should I ask the merchant to charge me in USD? (By the way the answer to that last one is a big NO!)

I just received a new Capital One card that doesn’t have foreign transaction fees. That should save me some money on my upcoming trip to India and Turkey!
